PTT Defends Their Crown At The Mt. Airy League

For the 2nd consecutive season Coach Bilal, Coach Troy and their crew of 10 & 11 year olds captured the championship at the Mt. Airy Summer League. Although the championship game was a great team effort, standout performers included Samir, Josh, Jaylen and Denelle. Highlight of the game came in the closing seconds as Josh Coleman stepped to the foul line to ice two key foul shots to secure the win. This core group has experienced great success of the last few years competing on the 10U and 11U circuits, it will be interesting to see how they fair as many of them move up into the 12U division this winter.
PTT-Hargrove travel to Syracuse Elite Camp

Members of the PTT Hargrove team finished the summer with a trip to the Syracuse Elite Camp on August 7th & 8th. As a group of rising 8th and 9th graders the girls were definitely the youngest at the camp, which was comprised of mostly high school varsity level players. The “youngbucks” did more than hold their own, as Syracuse coaching staff, Syracuse current players, and scouting services on hand took notice of the talent level of this young group. After a solid Spring and Summer, these ladies will take a much deserved break and then get back in the gym as many prepare to make their high school debuts this winter

PTT-GIRLS’ SUMMER SIZZLE

PTT-Hargrove Wins the Chip at Rutgers Tournament
PTT-13 girls start the summer off by claiming the championship at the “Summer Exposure Championship” at Rutgers University. After going undefeated in pool play, the girls claimed a HUGE win over the NY Gauchos in the championship game. In the first college exposure event of the summer, the girls stepped up to the challenge to defeat their NY rivals in front of a rowdy crowd of parents and fans. The buzz has begun for this talented group of rising freshmen and 8th graders among the college coaches in attendance. Standout performances came from Lauren Moses dominating the paint and Dominique Ward displaying unmatched athletism and a sweet pull-up jumper. The team hits the road again on July 25th as they will attempt to claim another chip at the USJN in the DC/Maryland area.

PTT-Bass’ Good Start for the Summer Exposure Season
Ptt-16 girls started the summer exposure season with a great showing at the Penn State Invitational July 5th-8th. After going undefeated in pool play, the team finished 5-1, ending with a tough loss in the championship game against the Lady Runnin’ Rebels. The team then took to the air heading out to Chicago, Illinois to compete in the Nike “Tournament of Champions” from July 9th-13th. A very strong showing by the team as they finished 5-1 once again. College coaches lined the sidelines each game; highlighted by a 5-point grudge match against a very talented Missouri Valley Blazers team, during which over 50 college coaches packed the sidelines to catch the action. Due to their standout performances during the 1st half of the July observation period, juniors Brittany Hrynko and Jade Howard have been featured on the very popular website, “Hoopgurlz.” Check out what national evaluator, Mark Lewis had to say about our girls.
